In a network installation, files that are shared by all users are stored under Central settings on the server. Local files and settings are also stored on the clients (additional workstations). Both the files on the server and the locally stored files are required for program start.
All computers in the network must work with the same version.
The software update in a network installation is performed in two steps. This ensures that all users access the same centrally stored files even after the update.
The ORCA web server provides the current update. The Authorized User installs this update on any workstation in the network (= import in the network). The updated program files are stored on the server in the central settings directory (Central Settings).

If the application is started on a client in the network after the authorized user has imported an update, the client automatically receives the Prompt to update clients on the network. Clients in the network are workstations and mobile computers that have started ORCA AVA as a network client. |
|
Mobile computers that have started the application as a single license client will not receive a prompt to update because they are not logged into the network. To update, mobile computers must be logged into the network and started as a network client. |
-Unlicensed trial period
During an unlicensed trial period, the new version is updated if both an update within the version and a version update are available.
